4. Obtain materials and energy Food autotroph- self feeder (plants) heterotroph- different feeder (animals) * Energy turn food into fuel * Homeostasis= staying in BALANCE

5. Respond to stimulus * Internal and External- reactions * for Homeostasis=BALANCE ex: light, pain, temp, moisture, danger

6. Universal Genetic Code * DNA- used to pass information to the next generation
