Professional Development Why Isn’t My Student Making Progress In Reading?: Analyzing Individual Student Problems Presented by: Dorota Celinska & Christine Martin Description: What do we do when students don’t make progress, even with a really good intervention? This interactive series of classes provides multiple tools for answering this question, with opportunities for application and coaching. Day 1 = general principles tools of academic assessment for individual student problems. Day 2 = specific reading tools including error analysis templates, meta-cognitive comprehension surveys, vocabulary assessment resources, phonemic awareness tools, & advanced reading assessment strategies., and Day 3 = troubleshooting, coaching, & networking around your specific cases. Days 1 & 3 will include participants from the 2 other Why Isn’t My Student Making Progress classes (Writing & Math). Reading class only = 9 hours; combined with Writing = 12 hours; combined with both Writing & Math = 18 hours Visit www.sased.org Professional Development to register. “The kids in our classroom are infinitely more significant than the subject matter we teach.” Meladee McCarty Workshop Details Registration Please register online at http://pd.sased.org. Registration opens on December 9, 2014 and runs through January 15, 2015 This 3 part half day class is offered free to all SASED and Member District certified staff. This class is also offered to districts outside the membership for a $50 registration fee. Payments can be made through PayPal, PO, or check. Checks for registrants outside of SASED should be made payable to SASED with the class title in the memo section of the check. Please remit to SASED at 6S331 Cornwall Rd Naperville IL 60540. Payments should be received no later than January 15, 2015. CPDU, CEU and Certificates of Attendance will be available upon the completion of an evaluation which will be distributed at the end of Session 3 on October 28, 2014.
