Everything around you that you use in everyday life has been designed by someone. From the mundane to the magnificent; all products are the realisation of a designers ideas and concepts.

Breakdown of GCSE: 40% written exam paper 60% CAT – controlled assessment task Year 9 Box project – Using the laser cutter and making four different wood joints Vacuum formed night light – Made out of high impact polystyrene Comic book clock – Made out of acrylic and based on a comic book character of their choice Year 10 Laminated storage unit – Pupils make their own mould and learn how to use the centre lathe and tapping dies Jewellery project – Pupils learn how to cast with pewter and aluminium. Start CAT – Pupils choose brief Year 11 Continuation of CAT. Revision structure to start after February half term. Footnote – All project include theory led lessons as well as practical lessons.
