Benchmarking Results Set Screws present several serious design issues and damage to axel so alternative methods are highly recommended The disk is easily warped since it is not rigid – avoid plastic materials in actual drive shaft and gearing Encoder must be part of structural integrity Bearings must be selected to withstand amount of force being “pushed” into the part Miter gearing is expensive and it is not worth it due to amount of friction and lowered system efficiency Space is wasted –volume wise Circuit boards must be custom made and attached to module Servos option is being considered Move all Circuitry to one set location to prevent interference and decrease amount of set screws needed Turntable has a lot of slop – may consider alternative materials for this and may custom make instead of acquire commercial product Motors selected by EE team may be changed due to size and weight Parts must be protected from natural elements
Concept Plan/Plan for the Day Bring up idea of sponsors including ME Department Will consider location of drive and steering bearings and pulley system Will consider motor change Servos run steering than an actual motor Simplify “busy work of gear system Focus plans on attachment, structural, steering, wheels Issue will be compatibility to RP10 Ideas started flowing of how module can be used for future with only one exterior cable connected to all four modules
