Tips for Integrating English in other subjects (all connected with Christmas, but can be accomodated for other times) Craft Make your own English Advent Calendar following instructions in English. Maths Count pictures in the tree. What geometrical shapes are the presents? Measure their sided. How many presents are there? Say numbers and ordinal numbers in Eng. Music Sing the three Eng. Christmas songs. What rhythm (time) are they (two-four time, four-four time)? Can you conduct? Can you clap the rhythm of words: de-co-ra-tion, snow-man, star? Can you write them into a stave? L1 What words on the titul page are nouns, verbs? How we create plural in English and in L1? What English consonants and vowels does not exist in L1? Science What is mistletoe in L1? Where does it grow? Find more on the internet. Culture Why there are these pictures in the AC? (Carp – we eat carp for Christmas dinner.) Do people all around the world celebrate Christmas? Would they have the same pictures (Christmas symbols) in their AC? ( Questionare on our websites.) Art What would you like to get for Ch. present? Draw into the yellow circle. Picture dictation with the new words: Draw very quickly what teacher says. (With drawing on a board, it can be two-team guessing game) ITC Use on-line translator or dictionary. Play songs on You Tube. Ask your e-Twinning partners about Christmas. PE Count English and play Molecules – run and gether in groups of two, three. Run in the rythm of Jingle Bells, use real jingle bells. Run than stop in announced position: angel – hands on hips snowman – take hands to sides bell – hands make roof, head is the bell Use words snowflake, snowball, snowman for evaluation Streching rhyme for PE minute: Snow on the green grass - bend forward Snow on the tree – bend sidewards Snow on the house – hands make roof But not on me.
