Adjectives Adjectives must match the case, number, and gender of the nouns they modify.

multas villas, multos agros, multas arbores vident. They see many houses, many fields, many trees. Omnes villas, omnes agros, omnes arbores vident. They see all the houses, all the fields, all the trees.

3rd declension adjectives have 3rd declension endings. As with the 1st and 2nd declension adjectives previously learned, they must agree with the nouns they describe in case, number, and gender. Breve tempore, raeda immobilis, feminae fortes

Stat immobilis Marcus Marcus stands motionless. Immobilis is an adjective modifying Marcus and is therefore nominative, masculine, and singular to agree with the subject of stat.

Sextus omnes puellas amant Sextus loves all girls puellas is a 1st declension noun. Omnis, omne is a 3rd declension adjective. The noun-adjective pair (omnes puellas) agree, but they do not have identical endings.

Omne templum habet cellam Every temple has a sanctuary. Templum is a 2nd declension noun. Omnis, omne is a 3rd declension adjective. The noun-adjective pair (omne templum) agree, but they do not have identical endings.
