贫困问题 Poverty

Poverty The problem of poverty mainly exits in rural area, but there are also some poor people in cities. The reason these people are poor is not because they are lazy, but it’s very difficult, almost impossible to find a well-paid job without high education level. People in cities whose income below the “poverty line” can receive a little financial aid from the government, which is merely enough to buy basic food. They don’t have health insurance and hospitals don’t have any obligation to serve people who can’t pay. People live in rural area are not qualified for any financial aid. Since Chinese people think families are very important, some poor people can get help from relatives. Generally speaking, what a poor family would do is to ask the child to study very hard, become well-educated and then make good money, and then the fate of whole family can be changed. So schools in poor area may not have good teachers, but behavioral problems in classroom are very rare.
