Frida Kahlo (1907-1954) One of the best known Mexican painters, she was famous for doing self-portraits. When she was 6 years old, she contracted polio. When she was 18 she was in a devastating accident in which she broke her spinal column, her clavicle, ribs, pelvis, 11 fractures in her right leg, a crushed and dislocated right foot and dislocated her shoulder. An iron handrail pierced her abdomen and uterus which damaged her ability to ever have children.

Frida’s road to recovery, led to her becoming a painter.

Other useful words/phrases… a veces – sometimes mucho – a lot muy – very pero – but según – according to según mi familia – according to my family más – more un – a, an, one (masculine) una – a, an, one (feminine)
