First Phase The Work flow of the Patent Application at EGPO Reception -Local Applications -Request within the framework of the Treaty of Paris -Request within the framework of the Treaty of PCT Submission of a patent application Or Utility Model Reception Checking the fulfillment of the request: -The Precedence document if present -Power of Attorney -Assignment -Certificate of Incorporation Checking the fulfilling of the request: -Full description of the request -Claims -Matching Precedence of Documents if Present -Drawings if present -Abstract Technical Examiner in the Reception Legal Examiner in the Reception - 3 months time limit for Priority Document -Obligation to complete the following papers within 4 Months : Power of attorney, assignment, certificate of incorporation -etc. -6 Months for Translation Failure to Fulfill the Requirements Meet the Requirements Formal Checking Decline the Application Is a decision (updated on the database by the Legal Examiner & enter the Classification in the Database by Technical Examiner ) Is a decision (not updated on the database by the examiner legal) Reception First Phase Collecting the Fees & give the applicant Record of the deposit contains Request number, Date & Hour of Submitting Papers Completed within the period: Power of attorney, assignment, certificate of incorporation & any Paper Then Change the Request Case on the Database by the Legal Examiner Then Scan all the papers & Attached it with the request

Second Phase The Work flow of the Patent Application at EGPO Published in EGPO Gazette Second Phase Reception Make a special File for the request and update the information and make a special card for the fees and File movement Register in the Requests Records & entered drawing – Entered the Bibliographic Data – Scan the request and join it with the Database   Ending of the Application Refuse the Complained Documentation Department Appeal Examination Accept the Appeal Legal Examination Committee of Appeals Legal examination for Filled applications after 6 months to examine Fulfilling requests after mad a search for: -Power of Attorney -Assignment- Extractor Record – Priority Document Entering the Decision on the Database (Refused) Legal Examination Submit the Appeal Didn’t Appeal Doesn't Fulfill the Criteria Fulfill the Criteria Document Department Initial Legal Examination Precedence Appeal from the Decision Notify the Applicant to pay the search & examination fees Review the process of paying the annual fees and sending the annual fees Notification to the person concerned (Fulfill the Criteria) Paying the Examination Fees If it was not Not Paid Application Failed Paid

Third Phase The Work flow of the Patent Application at EGPO Paid Committee of Appeals Substantive examination of the request from novelty – inventive step – industrial applicability innovative and the International Classification of demand and the introduction of decisions Legal Examination Appeal In the case of containment the request more than one application, Applications will be separated and treated the new requests as a new application but with the same old request date Complain from the Decision Substantive Examination Decision Amendment the Request Refuse the Application Acceptance the Application Did not Appeal Check the Appeal Legal Examination Ending the Request Refuse the Appeal Ending the Application Committee of Appeals Publish the Acceptance in the Official Newspaper & 60 Days limit to Objection & 90 Days according to article 17 Published in EGPO Gazette Appeal from the Decision Legal & Technical Examination Refuse the Application Time Limit Objection Objection to accept the Application Objection Technical Examination Legal Examination No Objection

Forth Phase The Work flow of the Patent Application at EGPO Submitting the Publications Receiving the publications in its final status Technical Examination Review the publications in its final status -Granting of a patent and giving Patent No. -Give a certificate to the owner of the patent -Publish in the EGPO Official Gazette -Register in the Patent Record -Entering the Data on the Databases -Scan the Patent and Join it to the Database -Make WIPO ST.36
