1st Grade May Newsletter Important Dates Field Trip! What We’re Learning Things To Remember Field Trip! May 4 – Riverside Park and “Aladdin” STAAR Testing May 8-10 will be a closed campus. ELAR: We are reading more text independently as we prepare for second grade. We are working on developing our writing abilities by creating our own stories. SCIENCE: We are learning about animals and their offspring, life cycles, and organisms and their environments. MATH: We will study length and use non-standard units of measurement. We will review addition and subtraction. SOCIAL STUDIES: We will use our Studies Weekly to learn about money and trade. We will also learn about Australia for Multicultural Day.
