Betrayal John 18:1-11 1/14/2018

Betrayal Jesus knew who his betrayer was. What did Jesus do before facing his betrayers? Mark 14:32-41 What was his response once his betrayers arrived? His threefold response revealed purpose: His Deity Verse 5 His Concern Verse 8 His Commission Verse 11

Threefold Response His Deity His betrayers were struck with fear when Jesus identified himself. It was a warning to all that would participate in his arrest.

Threefold Response His Concern As the Good Shepherd Jesus would lay down his life for his sheep. John 10:10 He would died not only for them but of instead of them.

Threefold Response His Commission Jesus did not let the circumstances distract him from the will of the Father.

For Us What did Jesus ask the disciples to do? Matthew 26:41 How do we allow His deity affect our lives? Are His concerns our concerns? Have we or are we distracted from our commission?
