Once there were ten men who were very ill, they had a disease called Leprosy. This meant that the nerves in their skin that helped that feel things weren’t working properly. So when they fell over or banged their hands or feet, they didn’t feel any pain and their skin got very sore. In Jesus day people who had leprosy were sent away to live outside the village, and not allowed to eat with or talk to anyone else except people who had leprosy as well.

One day Jesus came to the men’s village, they all said to him “Jesus, Master, help us!”

Jesus said go to priests at the temple Jesus said go to priests at the temple. The men weren’t allowed to go their because they had leprosy but off they went one at a time...

Then there were 9...

And another, then there were 8

And another, and then there were 7

And another, there were 6 left

And another, there were 5 left

And another, there were 4 left

Then another, there were 3 left

And then another, there were 2 left

Then another and there was only one left

And he went and Jesus was all on his own And he went and Jesus was all on his own. As the men went towards the temple they were healed, they were totally well again!

One of the men came hurrying back to Jesus, saying THANK YOU GOD in a very loud voice

He came up to Jesus and threw himself at Jesus feet and said THANK YOU, he was a samaritan, not one of God’s chosen people

Jesus said “Where are the other 9. Aren’t they well too Jesus said “Where are the other 9? Aren’t they well too? Why did only one come back to say thankyou? And he isn’t even someone who has been brought up knowing all about God’s story!” Then he said to the man “Go home, your faith has made you well!”
