For group/individual assignment you can definitely consult your friends or refer good books, etc. When ever submitting any individual/group assignment please attach the question paper and write the group #, members who WERE present in class on the day when the assignment was given along with their roll # and signature. For any group/individual assignment if you are absent (without genuine reason) then you will be marked as absent and no credit will be given to you for that assignment.
