Educational and special training requirements You will need to go to medical school. First you will need to earn your bachelors degree (which takes 4 years). Then pursue a medical degree (another 4 years). After that you will need to complete a residency (5 years). Finally you have to obtain a license, then become board certified. About 13 years of schooling.
Schools that offer training Some good schools to choose from that offer the training are, UCLA, John Hopkins University, and University of Pennsylvania. I really want to go to UCLA.
Type of jobs Some of the job options are, Psychometrics, they are in a clinical setting and administer tests. Substance Abuse Councilor, helps with illegal drug use. Psychiatrists, helps with mental health issues.

Special qualities and abilities Some good qualities are communication, numeracy, research, ethics, patience, problem solving. One really important one is communication because you need to be able to talk to your patient.

Famous psychiatrist A famous psychiatrist is Leo Kanner. Leo is a famous Australian-American psychiatrist. He is best known for his work with autism. Leo was born on June 13, 1894 in Klekotiv, Ukraine. He has written some books relating to his studies such things as children phycology, autism, and other mental disability's he studied. Leo sadly passed away on April 3, 1981 due to Congestive Heart Failure.
My reaction Overall I'm very pleased with the information I found. It helped me understand if I am ever going to go into this field. I also discovered that it takes a lot of schooling. I really want to be a psychiatrist now, coming into this I wasn’t so sure. But now I am!
