Chapter 8 Questions 1. Why did the doctor allow the boys to see Johnny? He only let them see Johnny because Johnny was asking for them. 2. What did Ponyboy mean when he considered, “Sixteen…you want to see”? He is reflecting on Johnny’s tough life but really it encompasses all the Greasers, they have all had to grow up too fast. He and Johnny have seen violence, and crime, and murder in their sixteen years but they haven’t seen so many other things

Chapter 8 Questions 3. Why does Johnny not want to see his mother? He figures she’s there to tell him that he’s causing her trouble and how glad she and his dad will be when he’s dead.

Chapter 8 Questions 4. What does Two-Bit give to Dally? He gives him a his prized switchblade. What is Dally going to do with it? He plans to use it in case he needs to bluff someone at the rumble. 5. Why was Ponyboy upset with Cherry? She wouldn’t go to the hospital to see Johnny.
