Independent Materials – Notebook, pencil 5 minutes When we have numbers that are the same factors (the same number being multiplied), we can use exponential notation to write the numbers in a manner that is more efficient (easier). The exponent shows how many times the base is being multiplied by itself. So in expanded form, this means 2x2x2
