The Rice football team asked for the Rice NROTC Unit and Hargrave JROTC Cadets to help unfurl a 100 yard long flag during the halftime ceremonies. Before halftime, Rice NROTC PMS Captain Michael A. Carambas, recognized the Falcon Battalion Cadets as part of the game. When halftime finally arrived, the Falcon Battalion, along with various Houston wide JROTC programs, helped unfurl a 100 yard long flag during halftime. When the flag was completely drawn out, it got a rousing round of applause from the 22,974 fans in attendance. Friendly competition events took place between the cadets showing partnership from all military JROTC branches the entire day. True Grit; to Succeed!
