Presentation transcript:

Are you a good role model? Do I know what a good role model ‘looks’ like?

What is a ‘good’ role model? A good role model is someone who is always positive, calm, and confident in themselves. You don't want someone who is down or tries to bring you down. Everyone likes a person who is happy with their achievements, but continues to strive for bigger and better objectives.

Being a ‘good’ role model involves… Setting the bar high – have an aspiration Inspiring Others Looking in the mirror – do you like what you see? Standing for ‘Something’ – don’t back down to negative pressure Walking the talk – what you say is equally important, as well as how you say it… Integrity matters – be truthful to yourself and others Be respectful – and gain that respect back Believing in Yourself! Nobody’s ‘Perfect’ – no, not even you You are judged by the company you keep Listening to your conscience – it is in there!

Role Models can be found in many places – In Religion

- In Sport

- In Music

- In our every day life…

So how will you be a positive role model? Practise what you preach (do as you say!) Apologise when you make a mistake (say sorry) Be honest (as long as its not purposefully to upset!) Do it! (if you’ve said you’ll do something then do it!) Treat everyone (including those you don’t get on with) with respect! Be consistent (no one likes a flibberty-gibberty) Keep to the agreed rules….or rule!

This week – be a Positive Role Model to everyone
