Fig 1 Flow chart shows the organization of the Society for Vascular Surgery (SVS) Vascular Quality Initiative (VQI). Each center (or physician group) contracts with the SVS Patient Service Organization (PSO) for PSO services and with M2S for data management services. Each regional quality group appoints representatives to the SVS PSO Governing Council and Quality Committee. Centers submit data to M2S, which prepares quality reports (Patient Safety Work Product [PSWP]) for centers and nonidentifiable data sets for regional quality groups, under the direction of the SVS PSO. The SVS PSO receives identified data from M2S for analysis for quality improvement purposes within the PSO. Regional quality groups may collaborate on quality improvement (QI) and research projects.
