Monday’s Lesson Learning Goal: Students will be able to identify beneficial and harmful properties of the Sun and investigate how sunlight warms objects, land, air, and water. Standard: SC.1.E.5.4: (DOK 2) Identify the beneficial and harmful properties of the Sun.

Turn and Talk: What does the sun give us that is necessary for all life? What do you think would happen if we did not have the sun?

Thursday’s Lesson Learning Goal: Students will understand that geography is the study of the Earth’s landforms and bodies of water. Standard: SS.1.G.1.2 Identify key elements (compass rose, cardinal directions, title, key/legend with symbols) of maps & globes.

Turn and Talk: Name one map feature and what it does.
