Topography Generally mountainous. Highest peak is in Savoy Alps, the Penninies and Graian Chain.

Biome In a subtropical Mediterranean biome Factors that influence it are dry summers and mild to cool summers. Receive almost all precipitation during winter, autumn and spring.

Climate Summer: June - September July is the sunniest/ hottest month Hot and Humid Average high 27*C - 80.6*F Average low 15-18*C - 59-64.4*F Lots of sunshine 300+ hours of sunshine Precipitation little - frequent rainfall Thunderstorms Winter: Late October - February January is the coldest month Chilly and Dry Average High 12*C - 53.6*F Average low 1-6*C - 33.8 - 42.8*F Little sunshine 70 hours or less Precipitation minimal rainfall/snow

Transportation and Life The main transportation that is used in s by boat or ferry. Tourist dominate the area. Restaurants, vending, and transporting people by a taxi are the main The people live right on or very close to the canals they use.

Native Plant and Animal Gutweed is a common plant in Venice. Common in rock pools, salt marshes and sea water ditches. Characteristics: Bright green, inflated tubes, and pinched in waists. The Red Throated Loon is a common native aquatic bird. Smallest and lightest Loon coming in at just 22-26 in. Fish form the majority of its’ diet, though amphibians, invertebrates, and other plant material are eaten too.

The Redesign Use water filter to separate the salt Purifys water drinking house/ washing purposes The filters will prevent flooding throughout the city Build crops and plants vertically Takes up less space Can grow more with the space Build housing/ workplaces up/ vertically Helps prevent flooding and ruining houses

How we acquire energy, food, & water Fishing Farming Importing Water Purifier Water canals/ Rivers Energy Solar Decreasing fossil fuel usage using the water taxi system

Waste Management Our city will strongly encourage the use of recyclable material. As a city we will collect all recycling 3-5 times a week. This will prevent usage of landfills If able, extra food will be turned into natural fertilizer. Help our agriculture and decrease overall pollution Any non recyclables will be sent to an underground burning room to be disposed of. Less air pollution

Areas for Wildlife In the shallow streams and canals of Venice are anemones, crabs, mussels, limpets, barnacles, cuttlefish, squill, oysters, and shrimp. Also, there are fish that range from the tiny anchovy to eels, mullet, and sea bass. Large amounts of fish bring in birds such as ducks, swans, cormorants, and spoonbill.
