What is Witchcraft? The modern English word witchcraft has three principal connotations: the practice of magic or sorcery worldwide; the beliefs associated with the Western witch-hunts of the 14th to the 18th century; and varieties of the modern movement called Wicca, frequently mispronounced “wikka.” Witchcraft, an earth based religion, was practiced in almost all the societies and cultures across the world according to local beliefs and traditions
