Consider your stance Have an open stance. If your arms and legs are crossed, it tells the other person you are defensive, protective, or scared and/or unwilling to listen. Consider your eye contact Eye contact is the key to personal communication success. Be responsive When the other person talks, nod, raise your eyebrows, or show some other reaction. Smile The most important. In creating new friendships or relationships, it is essential to start with a smile.
