How do the proofs differ? Emotional proof appeals to the heart of your listener. Logical proof appeals to the mind of your listener. Ethical proof is what the audience thinks of the speaker.

Sample Propositions Adopted children should be allowed to search for their birth parents. All cars should have safety air bags. Newspapers should be required to use recycled paper. Mandatory gun-safety classes should be taught at the middle school level. Cleanup of old hazardous waste sites must be expedited. Astroturf should be removed from all playing fields. Term limits should be imposed on all members of congress. Prescription drug ads should be illegal. Bicyclists should be required by law to wear helmets. Physician assisted suicides should be legally allowed. (Your choice on a controversial issue approved by your teacher.)
