Our Educational Visit: Dear Families, this term as part of our International Primary Curriculum (IPC) we will be learning and exploring all about: ‘What's on the menu?’ Our Educational Visit: We will have a dentist come into school to link with our science topic of teeth. The children will also be visiting a mosque to explore different places of worship and religious practices. Homework: We hand out homework on Fridays and collect the following Friday. SPAG- Every fortnight Bug Club-Every other fortnight Reading: Please read with your child every day and sign their reading records. Maths- My maths homework- set according to what chn have learnt that week. Rockstar Timestables- Weekly Battle of the Bands competition. Year 4 Spring 2 (2018-2019) Our value this term is: COURAGE Physical Education (PE) and Yoga: Please make sure your child has the correct PE kit as shown on our school website and that all kit is clearly labeled.

Computing: English: Science: humans Computing: We will be reading ‘Bill’s New Frock’. Our English lesson will be based on around this novel. We will be writing diary entries. We will also secure our knowledge of how to use fronted adverbials in our writing and possessive apostrophes. I Data:- Unit looks at introducing the concept of data being represented digitally on computers. English: Science: humans • describe the simple functions of the basic parts of the digestive system in humans • identify the different types of teeth in humans and their simple functions • construct and interpret a variety of food chains, identifying producers, predators and prey Computing: Theme: Ramayana Pupils will explore the story of the Ramayana. They will read, retell and act stories to develop a good understanding of the narrative structure and begin to identify key themes and messages of the story. Philosophy, Religious and Ethics (PRE) and Sanskrit: This term children will be learning :- how to convert fractions into decimals. the effect of dividing by 10/100 Rounding decimals to a whole number Compare numbers with the same number of decimal places up to two decimal places. Solve simple measure and money problems involving fractions and decimals to two decimal places. Estimate, compare and calculate different measures, including money in pounds and pence. Maths: We will be learning about naming family members and possession. Spanish: In Geography, we’ll be finding out: types of settlement and land use, economic activity including trade links, and the distribution of natural resources including energy, food, minerals and water: History and Geography: Improvise and compose music for a range of purposes using the inter-related dimensions of music (radio jingle-linked to healthy eating) DT/ Art & Music: Changes This theme tackles the issue of change and aims to equip children with an understanding of different types of change, positive and negative, and common human responses to it PSHE: Computing:
