Lesson 2.1.1 - What is a variable? - Combining like terms Objective - I will be able to identify the parts of an expression and will be able to combine like terms Quote of the Day - “Don't wish it were easier. Wish you were better.”  ― Jim Rohn

Variable: A symbol, usually a letter of the alphabet which represents an unknown value. A variable can take on any numerical value. EX: X or Y2 or A3 Constant: A value which never changes, a number. EX: 5 or 10 or 25 Term: A Variable, a constant (number), or a product of a constant and a variable. EX: X or 5 or 7Y or 9X2 Like Terms: Terms which have EXACTLY the same variable portion, INCLUDING ANY EXPONENTS
