class news Miss Jackson’s A Note from the Teacher Week of April 17th A Note from the Teacher What’s Happening in... Reading – This week we read books about the ocean. We discussed the different animals that live in the ocean and their characteristics. We also reviewed beginning sounds and ending diagraphs. Sight Words – first, way, could Math – This week we reviewed 2 dimensional (flat shapes) and 3 dimensional shapes (solid shapes). We discussed their corners/vertices and sides along with how 2 shapes are similar/different. We also continued practicing solving subtraction and addition equations. Please sign and return field trip permission slips. The California Woods field trip cost $11.00 per student. The Cincinnati Zoo field trip cost $12 per student and $6.00 per chaperone. The Firehouse field trip is free. I have contacted the 2 chaperones for the California Woods field trip. I appreciate all the volunteers! I wish I could take you all but 2 is the limit. Don’t forget to volunteer to be a chaperone for the zoo field trip that is coming up on May 12th! If your child has started AR please continue having them read their baggy books. They also need to bring their books back to school with them everyday. Students may also read books from home, check out the www.arbookfind.com to see if it has a corresponding quiz. If it does, send it in!
