Benefits to Lions INSPIRATION Created a vision: a common service project Lions with the right skills led by example Demonstrated the knowledge that exists Show enthusiasm Create a vision: dependent on your role (club-president, zone chairperson, governor, international director, etc.) Lead by example: if you don’t do it, why should others? Give inspiring presentations (a skill you can learn) Demonstrate knowledge (this is hard work – read, share, discuss) Enthusiasm: people are likely inspired by enthusiasm rather than worries

MOTIVATION Helping others: ‘We Serve’. Created a team spirit Encouraged open and effective communication Value the contribution of others Helping others: try to help your team members to achieve their goals Create a team spirit: together we achieve more – resolve conflicts Encourage an environment of open and effective communication: always be transparent with information (don’t hide) Value the contribution of others: compliment the other for their contribution, it’s not you! Empathy: try to put yourselves in the shoes of others – why do they react as they do

SUMMARY LC Petrovgrad Zrenjanin, working in a common service project with LC Beograd, together with many other Lions and Leos provided people, equipment and knowledge to inform and educate the people of Belgrade, on the dangers of diabetes and how to reduce the risk. It was so good to see the way everyone cooperated and worked well together, it was the best Diabetic Screening we have ever seen and the results showed the benefit of working together.
