AUP, EDP, & Centralized Printing

AUP Can be downloaded from the Technology Forms/Handouts page on the District Technology website. Schools will need to have students sign AUP for upcoming year and staff signatures for the upcoming year will be done electronically.

Privacy “If Users bring personal computers or personal electronic devices onto School District property….[they] may be legally accessed in accordance with the law to insure compliance with this Policy, other School District policies, regulations, rules, procedures, ISP terms, and local, state, and federal law.”

It is often necessary to access User accounts in order to perform routine maintenance and security tasks. System administrators have the right to access by interception, and access the stored communication of User accounts for any reason in order to uphold this Policy, administrative regulations, the law, and to maintain the system. USERS SHOULD HAVE NO EXPECTATION OF PRIVACY IN ANYTHING THEY CREATE, STORE, SEND, RECEIVE, OR DISPLAY ON OR OVER THE SCHOOL DISTRICT’S CIS SYSTEMS, INCLUDING THEIR PERSONAL FILES OR ANY OF THEIR USE OF THE SCHOOL DISTRICT’S CIS SYSTEMS. The School District reserves the right to record, check, receive, monitor, track, log, access and otherwise inspect any or all CIS systems’ use and to monitor and allocate fileserver space.

Ownership Access to the School District’s CIS systems through school resources is a privilege, not a right. These, as well as the User accounts and information, are the property of the School District.

Web 2.0 & 3.0 Web services Collaborative web tools, blogs, etc are permitted and must comply with AUP, as well as any other relevant policies or regulations from the provider, copyright, etc.

Personal Blogging If an employee, student or Guest creates a blog with their own resources and on their own time, the employee, student or Guest may not violate the privacy rights of employees and students, may not use School District personal and private information/data, images and copyrighted material in their blog, and may not disrupt the School District. See also the School District’s Social Media Policy, and its accompanying administrative regulations.

Identifying Students Published documents, including but not limited to, audio and video clips or conferences, may not include a student’s date of birth, Social Security number, driver’s license number, financial information, credit card number, health information, phone number(s), street address, or box number, name, (other than first name), or the names of other family members without parental consent.

Documents, web pages, electronic communications, or videoconferences may not include personally identifiable information that indicates the physical location of a student at a given time without parental consent.

Centralized Printing

What is centralized printing? Centralized printing is being implemented at all schools beginning next year. You will have the capability to submit a print job at any copier in the building or District. Instead of specifying a printer or copier, your job waits on a server. You can then go to the copier, put in your code, and print out your job. The copiers will be multifunction – printer, copier, scanner and have the ability for mobile print.

Number of copies per building have been determined by both Technology and the Building Principal. We have considered both the physical layout of the building and convenience when determining locations. Computer labs and Libraries will continue to have laser printers. All inkjet printers will be removed from classrooms.

Trojan Copy Procedure for large print jobs to go to the copy center will remain the same.

Electronic Device Policy Part of AUP Devices with voice, data, text – iPads, Kindles, smartphones, PDAs, etc. Silent Use – No device sound UNLESS permitted by the teacher and so long as it doesn’t cause an interruption.

3G/4G District is not responsible for acts conducted while using 3G and 4G. Students must have written consent from their parents. Parents are responsible for their child’s use of 3G/4G.

Devices Building principals are authorized to the extent of devices used in their building. Should be consistency between grade levels. ED should be turned off when in any instructional areas. School district not liable for loss, theft, damage, etc.

Guidelines: May be used in authorized areas as determined by administrators for: Educational or instructional purposes Before or after school, in the cafeteria at lunchtime, in hallways during the passing of classes, and in library and a study hall if authorized by the teacher.

Guidelines: May not be used in authorized areas as determined by administrators for: On school grounds, buses or district sponsored activities During assessments To cheat or engage in unethical conduct To access blocked sites To take action that invades privacy rights of any student or employee In locker rooms, bathrooms, health suites, or changing areas To create, share, view or disseminate sexually explicit materials To disrupt the educational and learning environment

Privacy Students should have no expectation of privacy when using the School District owned ECD and when using the School District’s WiFi or other service. In addition, students should have no expectation of privacy when they use Personal Electronic Communication Devices on the School District’s WiFi or other service.
