Review of Park Facility Uses and Regulations Parks and Recreation Commission April 3, 2014

Continued Discussion Previous discussion = allow special events at City parks, with discretion Considerations: parking, damage, use for general public Reviewed other cities’ policies

Special Events Guide Started with City of Kirkland’s guide Tailored to Woodinville’s specifics Staff input – Development Services, Public Works, Parks, Police

Special Events Guide “No surprises” Contemplates a wide range of issues Allows for staff discretion Will require WMC changes

Potential WMC Changes 8.12.050 – change lead time for special commercial event application from 15 to 60 days 12.50.380 – allow extension of park closing times for permitted events 12.50.430 – allow “reservations” for special commercial events at City parks

Recommendation Provide comments on guide - Commission feedback on this policy
