Economic Indicators One of the many indicators of a country’s economic strength is gross domestic product (GDP), the total value of the goods and services that a country produces. Other indicators include income, literacy rate, and life expectancy. Countries with high GDPs are more developed countries and their economic activity is mostly in the tertiary sector. Countries with low GDPs are less developed and their economic activity is mostly in the primary or secondary sector.
