MicroStation Update 2013 Replacement of the Settings Manager

Replacement of the Settings Managers Settings Managers can still be use with the current version of MicroStation we are running, but it is no longer supported by Bentley Setting Managers will no longer be available in future versions of MicroStation Tasks/Element Templates along with Annotation Scale will be the replacement of the Settings Managers for the MoDOT CADD Standards

Replacement of the Settings Manager Using Tasks along with Annotation Scale Tasks do not use the plot scale concept that is used in the current Settings Manager (Category – Scale) Tasks utilizes the Annotation Scale option in the Drawing Scale tool in order to dynamically scale geometry like cells, text, dimensions, etc.

Replacement of the Settings Manager Using Tasks along with Annotation Scale Patterns within the Tasks toolbar does not work with the Annotation Scale at this time Therefore, the Patterns have been broken down into subfolders that corresponds to the scale of the placed border in the file.

Replacement of the Settings Manager Other information on the Tasks Linestyles will not automatically adjust with Annotation Scale at this time GeoPak D&C Manager labeling options (chain, stationing, plan sheets labels, etc.) will not adjust with Annotation Scale at this time Cells in the D&C Manager will automatically adjust with the Annotation Scale if they need to be scaled up or down.

Replacement of the Settings Manager The projected timeframe that CADD will switch each district office over to start using the Tasks/Annotation Scale will be this coming Fall or Winter. CADD Support will coordinate with each district office to schedule training for the MicroStation users before the switch is done. CADD Support will also provide documentation on the CADD Wiki for tips and information about the Tasks/Annotation Scale setup
