I wish my teacher knew ___________. Warm-up: I wish my teacher knew ___________. Example: I wish my students knew how much I worry about them personally. I really want them to be successful and happy.

What do you do if….. Soft lock down? Hard lock down? Fire drill?

Pre-Assessment: What are the 11 organ systems of the human body? What are cells, tissues, and organs? Which system are you experiencing issues with today and why?

Page 240-241 Cells, Tissues and Organs Cells are the basic unit of life. Tissues are a group of cells that perform a similar function or do a particular job.

Organs are made of different tissues joined together to perform a particular function Organ systems are groups of organs that function together within the body.

System focus for the next 2 weeks: . Respiratory Cardiovascular Nervous Digestive Excretory Skeletal Muscular Endocrine

Watch the following video for more information: Skeletal System Provide structure and support for the body. The bones store vitamins, minerals and fat for the body. The bones produce red blood cells (RBCs). Watch the following video for more information:

WARM-UP Part I, Write down the question and answer. What is a cells? What is a tissue? What is an organ? What organ system did we study yesterday? What is the largest organ in that organ system?

Warm-up part: write down the question and answer What do muscle provide the body? What are the 3 types of muscle? What do we call two muscles that work together by contracting or relaxing?

Muscles provide stability, protection, and maintain body temperature. Being attached to tendons enable the muscles to move.

Skeletal-attached to bones Muscles→ 3 types Cardiac-heart Smooth-organ muscles Skeletal-attached to bones

Contraction When the muscle contracts, the muscle shortens, pulling the insertion point (located on another bone) towards the origin. Works in pairs with another muscle.

Muscles continued When the muscle relaxes, another muscle contracts to return it to the original point. These pairs are called agonist and antagonist.

Know these bones

Know these muscles: Trapezius Hamstrings Pectoral muscles Triceps Biceps Deltoids Abdominal muscles Gluteal muscles Quadriceps Hamstrings Gastrocnemius

Kahoot! Get into teams of 2 and create a team name that includes one of your names.
