MEDIA RELATIONS INTERN (GCC) Job Description Monitors news agencies, including but not limited to television and online news agencies as well as other sources regarding developing news items and possible stories. Watches content of other news stations to make certain that we are up to date with current events and breaking news. Updates Account Managers of developing news stories. Prepares rundown of news stories and corresponding light boxes for distribution to Media client database. Decides which breaking news stories are newsworthy Helps develop stories. Is available to Account Managers on an as needed basis to assist in providing quotations to customers based on rate cards provided, as well as assist in fulfilment of client content requirements by downloading and sending image/music/video content ordered to channels provided. Keeps up to date on current events through various sources, such as media, newspapers, and online news sites etc. Verifies news stories by researching via reliable online news sources. Maintains daily contact with various news stations and other assignment desks by providing light boxes of content based on newsworthy and up-to-date information to database of media customers on breaking stories or other story information in data bank. Qualify leads assigned on a daily basis and update information on database as necessary. Identify and develop hot leads for conversion of Account Managers. Able to train, coach and provide smooth turn-over of above responsibilities to incoming media relations interns on the last month of the incumbent intern’s stay with GetCre8ive. May perform other related duties as assigned.
