THE LAST DAYS 2 TIMOTHY 3:1-5

2 TIMOTHY Paul is in a dungeon in Rome. These are the last writings of Paul. What will he say?

“There will be terrible times in the last days….” 2 TIMOTHY 3:1-5 “There will be terrible times in the last days….”

AWARE OF THE TIMES 2 Tim. 3:1– “But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days.”

AWARE OF THE TIMES “This know also that in the last days perilous times shall come.” 2 Tim. 3:1 (KJV)

AWARE OF THE TIMES 1 Tim. 4:1– “In later times some shall abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits.” 2 Peter 3:3-4-- “In the last days scoffers will come…they will say , “Where is this ‘coming’ he promised?” 2 Peter 2:1– “Even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them.”

BEWARE OF THE EVIL Unforgiving…(truce-breakers) “People will be…” 2 Tim. 3:3 Unforgiving…(truce-breakers) Slanderous…(false accusers, gossipers) Without self-control…(“do your own thing”-- STDs, drugs, alcohol; and children often pay the price) Brutal…(untamed, savage beasts) Not lovers of the good.” (Gk.—phileo)

BEWARE OF THE EVIL 2 Tim. 3:4 “People will be …” Treacherous…(lie and break promises, traitors) Rash…(act w/o careful thought) Conceited…(puffed up) Lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God…”

BEWARE OF THE EVIL 6 of these 18 deal with love! Lovers of themselves… Lovers of money… Without love (natural affection)… Not lovers of the good… Lovers of pleasure… Rather than lovers of God.
