The Beginning 1933-1938

Berlin Wall Separated the East and West sides of Germany “Tear down this wall!” - famous quote by Ronald Reagan Berlin Wall

The Middle 1939-1941 Took place during WW2 Germany invades Poland Nazi Germany conquers much of Europe Jews must wear identifying arm bands In June of 1941, Germany turned on the Soviet Union 1939-1941

Enroute to the End During this time, more and more Jews were targeted. If you spread rumors, didn’t do what was asked of you, or hid Jews and were caught, you were punished. Anne Frank hid Jews but was never caught. In 1945, the Berlin Wall that separated the East from the West was tore down. Some parts still stand today as a reminder. 1942-1945

Following the Holocaust, Germans struggle still struggle with their history. The police (Polizei) in Germany take their positions seriously, but you will also find them interacting with tourists.
