Presentation transcript:

An inefficient and entertaining way to stamp a piece of paper. Plinko! An inefficient and entertaining way to stamp a piece of paper.

The Team Ryan Bedinghaus, Corinne Davis, Tim Pobst, and Paul Summers

The Device A lead ball is projected into a funnel The ball rolls down a ramp A perfectly inelastic collision pushes the stamp down

Stored Energy Projectile Motion Conservation of Energy Ball is shot out of the tube into the funnel Conservation of Energy Ball rolls down the ramp Conservation of Momentum Ball sticks with the stamping mechanism and knocks it down

Conclusions This device took us 3 hours to build, incorporating aspects that would make it easier to repeat the experiment reliably. We had a little trouble making the ball and wood’s collision perfectly inelastic. Overall it was a very successful project!
