Classic Love ….1997 Robert Indiana was born in New Castle Indiana. He changed his name from Robert Clark to Robert Indiana so everyone would know where he came from.

Hope…. 2008

Number 5 ….2001 Robert Indiana used repeating numbers and shapes. Look at the different shades and red in the star How many shapes do you see? Star, pentagon, circle, diamond, & triangle

Liberty…. 1975 Do you see any patterns? Blue and red stripes in the background Circle of stars behind the star Every other section of the star is light or dark

Arrows and Numbers…. 1964 Simple shapes like arrows, circles, stars, pentagons, and so on are used throughout Robert Indiana’s works of art.

KvF5 …..1990 Robert used symbols and numbers in his art because he moved a lot as a child and he remembers seeing street symbols, words, and numbers out the car window. He loved numbers the most because they are all around us. Our phone numbers, addresses, birthdays, money, and many more. He paints what he knows best.

Now you create Use BRIGHT and BOLD colors Use WORDS and NUMBERS Use SIMPLE SHAPES and PATTERNS You will create a pre-drawing and have it approved before you are given paints. You may mix colors but if you make a mess your paints will be taken and you will finish with crayons!
