What in the world is a Cuttlefish? Does anybody know what a cuttlefish is? Well a cuttlefish is a marine animal and it is in the family of squids and octopuses which is the mollusk family. Cuttlefish have a ray of arms surrounding their head and eyes that can form images. They have ten arms but they use the two longest ones to catch prey. There's over 100 different cuttlefish in this world.

cuttlebone A cuttlebone is only found in cuttlefish and that's what makes it different from other mollusks. It is like an internal shell and is hard and brittle.it provides calcium carbonate. It allows the Cuttlefish to go lower or higher by changing amounts of gas and liquid.

Where do you find cuttlefish Cuttlefish are found all around the world. Thousands of giant cuttlefish are found in Whyalla South Australia. Cuttlefish are also found in North and Baltic Seas sometimes far South and South Africa. They are found in sublittoral depths, between the low tide line and the edges of the continental shelf. Cuttlefish are not found in America or Antarctica because it is too cold there Scientists say that cuttlefish do not live next to America because the coastline is too deep for cuttlefish to survive.

Cuttlefish have 4 stages in their life. Cuttlefish life cycle Cuttlefish have 4 stages in their life. Egg Hatch Adolescent Adult. Cuttlefish can vary in size from a few inches to several feet, have bluish green blood, and 3 hearts. They also have orange gills.

Fun facts scientists still do not know why Dolphins only eat cuttlefish heads when they attack Cuttlefish hypnotise prey with a mesmerizing light show The Australian cuttlefish is the largest and the flamboyant cuttlefish is the smallest Cuttlefish are color blind
