What’s a counterclaim? What’s the 1st step to writing a body paragraph? What’s the 2nd step to writing a body paragraph? What’s the 3rd step to writing a body paragraph? What’s the 4th step to writing a body paragraph? What’s the 5th step to writing a body paragraph? What should be avoided in the body? “Cohesive” means it all “sticks” together. Counter-claims addresses an idea that is the opposite of your claim. It strengthens your claim. Begin with a transition. Write your first reason. Give some background about the part of the story you’re about to address in the evidence. This is called a frame. Provide evidence that supports your reason. Elaborate by explaining how this evidence supports your reason. DON’T: * summarize the text One reason why. . . An example of. . . Furthermore. . .
