2.1 Sub-Committee Work Plan Advertisements and Support Advertise IEEE activities of our CIS industry members in order to promote their involvement within our society by strengthening relations between them and other CIS members through our social media. Support activities that industrial CIS members appreciate the most. (1) E-letter, (2) DLPs, and (3) webinars.

2.2 Sub-Committee Work Plan Presentations/Tutorials Prepare and present tutorials or presentations on select topics of interest, such as: How to perform industrial CI research How to transfer CI technologies from researchers in universities to industrial organizations. First Activity: Preparation for a webinar talk from an industry expert may be of interest to graduate students. This will be achieved in collaboration between, Webinars, Gold, and Industry Liaison We are still in the process of finding a Speaker

2.3 Sub-Committee Work Plan Academic Members Survey Will be conducting a survey among our CIS academic members to investigate: Their expectations from the industry members. Their technical interests that might find in industry? If there is any collaboration that has been achieved with CIS industry members? Their preferred technology transfer methods? Any sponsorship introduced by industry to their academic. We will be using the vTools.Surveys of IEEE (https://surveys.vtools.ieee.org/)

2.4 Sub-Committee Work Plan 4. Hot Topics Discussions Industry/Academic CIS membership motivations, by Identifying ways to keep industry professionals current with technology, continuing education possibly with certification courses and locations for professional networking

2.4 Sub-Committee Work Plan CI Industrial application Track in major conferences to be operated by: Companies Research centers Universities For future, we are targeting the following conferences to hold discussion panels: 2014 IEEE Symposium on Computational Intelligence for Security and Defense Applications (CISDA), Vietnam 2014 Computational Intelligence in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology (CIBCB), Hawaii 2014 IEEE Symposium Series on Computational Intelligence (SSCI), Orlando 2014 IEEE Conference on Computational Intelligence and Games (CIG), Germany

3. Working Groups Our working groups will involve both academia and industry CIS members to discuss hot topics such as CI real-world applications or real-time implementation of CI algorithms. To achieve the work plan items mentioned in the previous slides, we suggested two groups each is made up of 4 members: Tutorials Group: This group is for the preparation and presentation of tutorials, DLPs, webinars, on select topics of interest from our industrial members to our academic members and vise versa. Working Group: This group is for the creation and management of sessions that involve both academia and industry CIS members for the discussion of relevant and contemporary topics

5.1 Real World-Applications Panel Discussion CI Industry applications in the IEEE CEC 2013 June 21st , Cancun, Mexico This 2 hours session has been reserved after one of the keynote presentations where every one would be gathered so that we can attract a large audience. 1.5 hours presentations Half hour for discussion Panel chair: Moufid Harb Speakers are: Piero P. 5.2 Real World-Applications Panel Discussion The structure and topics. To address problems of real-life experiences when it comes to applying computational intelligent systems in the real-world (e.g. Industry, Space, Military, Maritime, etc.) based on different techniques, including fuzzy logic, neural networks, genetic algorithms, PSO and others. To answer questions like: 1) How close are Industry and Academia today? 2) Where are we in CI applications in industry/real world? 3) Which were the main difficulties we needed to cope with? 4) Which others are still unsolved, and where have we failed? 5) What are the promising application fields? 6) Is there any killer application in CI? 8) Is the future in Cloud-based model development and deployment? 9) How can we bring them closer? 11) How to achieve a successful technology transfer, from prototypes to production-ready models (including model lifecycle)?
