The ontological argument is based entirely upon logic and reason and doesn’t really try to give a posteriori evidence to back it up. Anselm would claim.

Logic, A priori and A posteriori, Analytic and Synthetic. Immanuel Kant (1724-1804) Born in Germany When I think of Kant, I think of Transcendental Idealism and the Immortality of the Soul, Three Faculties of the Human Mind he calls the Sensibility, Understanding, and Reason. Logic, A priori and A posteriori, Analytic and Synthetic.

Syllogisms/Kant’s ideas of the soul 1. Categorical Syllogisms are psychological ideas about the totality of the Self. All A are B. All B are C. All A are C. 2. Hypothetical Syllogisms are cosmological ideas about the totality of the world. If p, then q. If q, then r. If p, then r. 3. Disjunctive Syllogisms are either/or statements. Either A or B. If Not A then B. These 3 syllogisms form 3 judgments of relations and 4 antimonies The 3 judgments of relations are Freedom, God, and the beginning of the world. The 4 antimonies are for next time.

A priori Ideas A priori means thoughts such as mathematical truths like 7 + 5 = 12 and there are four sides to a square or three sides to a triangle. Kant was the first philosopher to say that we do not have the idea of 12 from 7 or 5 but that we must use addition to get the idea of 12.

Consider Kant’s Ideas in Psychology For Sensation and Perception, Cognitive, Development, Personality, Intelligence.
