Motivation – with Daniel Pink and UNBOSS Autonomy Mastery Purpose Motivation Delegation No micro-management Mandate Control over own time Right competences Right experience Right tasks Right support Time enough (”bandwidth”) For the customer For the organisation For the product/service For the team For me Challenging Developing Exiting Fun Fulfilling Things, that also play a role for motivation: Relations, dialogue, culture, trust, and safety

Motivation – with Daniel Pink and UNBOSS Inner motivation is created by: Having autonomy of how to approach and deliver your tasks and activities. Empowerment plays a vital role here Mastering your task by the right combination of skills, experiences, time, and support Knowing the purpose of the task, and that it makes sense to you It’s well-documented that inner motivation is far more powerful and lasts longer, than external motivation created by money, status, or titles. Use the model as input on your 1-to-1 talks as a framework for debate on what motivates you, and what we should KEEP doing and TRY doing instead. in your teams for establishing a culture and a reference for good working climate with variations by adapting it to the situation, the task, and the employee (situational leadership) Source: Daniel Pink’s ”DRIVE - The surprising truth about what motivates people”, Kolinds/Bøtters ”UNBOSS”, and numerous real-life observations
