St. Margaret of Cortona Secular Franciscan Order Regional Fraternity WELCOME St. Margaret of Cortona Secular Franciscan Order Regional Fraternity

“Start by doing what’s necessary; then do what’s possible; and suddenly you are doing the impossible.”

WHO ARE WE?

We are teachers, medical personnel, office workers, laborers, homemakers, artists, retirees, computer wizards, gardeners, neighbors, parents, grandparents, children, friends.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

A religious group that evangelizes through its witness to proclaim the Gospel to all.

A process and rule that will help me in my search for some success in "loving God with all my heart – and my neighbor as myself "; to join the world-wide Franciscan movement in imitation of Brother Francis and his followers.

An in-depth spirituality.

A community for sharing, inspiration for praying, and opportunities for making a difference.

Guidance and companionship on my journey to the truth and love of God who became incarnate in Christ.

A small-faith community open to deep faith sharing and support; truly trying to follow in the footsteps of St. Francis; accepting and challenging all my faults and oddities.

Because I know I can't do anything on my own, I need the love, support and fellowship of the fraternity. The SFO is my safehouse from the world, and my regenerating station to move back into the world.

A supportive community to help me live a prayerful, simple life as a follower of Francis.

A way to direct my efforts to be closer to God and to help the poor.

Table of Hope

A religious group that will help me respond to my calling to a deeper walk with God; to help me learn how to love God more, to penetrate my entire being in love of God, and to live according to that love. I wanted to have God above all else, to know Him truly, not in words only, but in deep communion and friendship.

A way of life. Calling oneself Christian is easy, but living it is hard. The SFO gives me a model (the Rule) to translate belief into practice.

A path to a deeper relationship with God.

Improvement in my prayer life.

Christian fellowship, a context/setting for talking about God and things of God.

P.S. I feel at home here.
