Our TALK and Our WALK Should be the Same! People of the world engage in worldly talk. (1 John 4:5) Spiritual people engage in spiritual talk (2 Corinthians 4:13; Acts 4:18-22)

Spiritual Conversations are Not Typically About… Worldly wisdom (Colossians 2:8; 1:28) Gaining worldly possessions (Matthew 6:19-21, 33; 1 Timothy 6:8) Worldly activities (Romans 12:2) Gossip (1 Timothy 5:13) Doctrines of men (2 Timothy 2:16-18) Complaints (Philippians 4:13; 1 Cor. 10:10)

The Purpose of Spiritual Conversations Making fellow Christians better by… Encouraging (Hebrews 3:12-13) Edifying (Acts 20:32) Admonishing (Romans 15:14) Rebuking & Correcting (James 5:19-20; 2 Timothy 4:2) Leading others to Christ (1 Corinthians 9:22)

The Topics of Spiritual Conversations God’s word – true doctrine (Titus 2:7-8; Deuteronomy 11:18-19) Bible-based answers to specific questions or problems (Colossians 4:6; Psalm 37:30) God’s goodness (Psa. 77:12; 71:24; 35:28) “If anyone speaks, let him speak as the oracles of God.” (1 Peter 4:11)
