Literacy Science PE History Art/DT Music Computing Objectives for PSHE Children can identify and name some feelings. (interpreting facial expressions) Express some of their positive qualities. Literacy Speaking and listening: 1. Listen and respond appropriately to adults and their peers. 2. Ask relevant questions to extend their understanding and knowledge. Reading: 1. Apply phonic knowledge and skills as the route to decode words. 2. Respond speedily with the correct sound to graphemes for all 40+ phonemes. 3. Listen to and discuss a wide range of poems, stories and non-fiction at a level beyond that at which they can read independently. 4. Recognise and join in with repeating patterns. 5. Making inferences on the basis of what has been read so far. 6. Name the letters of the alphabet in order. Writing: 1. Apply simple spelling rules. 2. We will read lots of different books about planes. Writing We will research and write about planes. We will write a recount about our trip to Manchester airport. We will write different poems about planes.. Numeracy We will be using £5, £10, £20 and £50 notes. We will be playing games using directions. We will be counting in 2’s, 5’s and 10’s. We will be halving shapes. We will be answering + - x and division questions. We will solve problems. Science Plants We will growing cress heads. We will be labelling parts of plants. We will be looking at the plants in our school. We will be looking at the trees in our school. PE We will play dodgeball to help us with out ball skills. We will develop our teamwork skills through different games. RE We will learn about why Jesus is so special. We will learn about the Easter story. We will look at the different symbols in the Easter story. Activities for Year 1 Spring 2 “This is your captain speaking” History We will look at photographs for old and new flying machine. We will find out who invented the first areophane and why it was invested. We will make out own flying inventions. We can use our imagination and senses to write about the first areophane flight. We can write a recount about the first flight. PSHE We take photos of our faces showing different feelings. We can talk about why it is good to be me.. . Computing We will change colours of photographs. We will find plane pictures on the internet.
