Location Where? Absolute location Your exact location on the globe - coordinates Relative location Where you are in relation to another place

Place What is it like there? A description of the physical characteristics Characteristics of the people

Human/Environment Interaction How people have changed the environment and how people have adapted to the environment

Movement Helps geographers understand the relationship between places. How do people, ideas, products, and information move from one area to another.

Region Areas that share common characteristics. Physical features Human traits Language Religion Political boundaries Can be very large or very small Formal, functional, or perceptual regions
