Ben Hill County Schools-Transition to Charter Implemented an alternative calendar with PLC/RTI days monthly Created PLCs in all schools K-12 Identified Power Standards in all academic contents K-12 Proficiency Scale Report Cards K-8 (no grades)

The Beginning Ben Hill County Schools converted from a Strategic Waiver System to a Charter System on July 1, 2018 Submitted the Fitzgerald High School College and Career Academy Grant with a Wall to Wall Academy Model Introduced the Freshmen Discovery Academy in the Fall of 2018

Phase 1-Fall 2017 to Fall 2018 Wall-to-Wall Academy Initiative Created the FHSCCA College and Career Academy Governance Board Offered acceleration to 9th Graders during the summer Started the Senior Capstone Project Implemented the Freshmen Discovery Academy Designed Freshmen Seminar Class geared toward Career Exploration Initiated a flexible schedule that includes Hurricane Time Developed an Aspiring Academic Leaders Program Started the FHS Online School for students with varying needs Increased Dual Enrollment through flexible scheduling Reduced the FHS Dropout Rate 50% from 38 (2016) to 19 (2018 Introduced Proficiency Scales to teachers in all academic and CTAE content areas with Project Based Learning-Summative Assessments
