Noun-Adjective Agreement

Noun-Adjective Agreement Nouns and the adjectives that modify them must agree in 3 important ways: Case, Number & Gender.

Noun-Adjective Agreement However, they do not have to agree in declension (I.e. 1st, 2nd or 3rd). They may agree, but they do not have to do so.

Noun-Adjective Agreement Magna ancilla in villā laborat.

Noun-Adjective Agreement Magna ancilla in villā laborat. Magnus lupus in silvā currit.

Noun-Adjective Agreement Magna ancilla in villā laborat. Magnus lupus in silvā currit. Magnum plaustrum appropinquat. In each of these examples the adjective agrees in the case (nominative), number (singular) and gender (masc., fem., or neut.) as well as declension.

In each of these examples the adjective agrees in the case (accusative), number (plural) and gender (masc., fem., or neut.) but NOT in declension. The adjectives have 1st and 2nd declension endings, whereas the nouns have 3rd declension endings.
