Build a Digital Library collect at least 1000 “objects” to build a digital library harvest with OAI-PMH (as per assignment #3) http://gita.grainger.uiuc.edu/registry/ http://celestial.eprints.org/cgi-bin/status or scrape HTML (as per assignment #2) you can write your own software, or use an existing DL package: http://www.openarchives.org/tools/tools.html

Services Fielded searching (at least 4 fields) Browsing Linking to a domain-specific service outside of your DL examples: for technical papers, build links into www.citeseer.org for popular music, build links into www.ticketmaster.com build links to cached versions in google.com or archive.org export its holdings via OAI-PMH as well (i.e. be an OAI-PMH aggregator): http://www.openarchives.org/OAI/2.0/guidelines-aggregator.htm http://www.cs.odu.edu/~mln/jcdl03/ http://www.purl.org/NET/oai_explorer

Demo Demo during regularly scheduled exam time Must be able to show: all searching, browsing, linking services full OAI-PMH compliance for harvesting your metadata demonstrated by: direct links to your baseURL, and/or using the repository explorer Grading: 25% for each service (searching, browsing, linking, aggregating)
